This is the FAA registration number.  This is identical in function as the license plate on a car.  It is sometimes referred to as the "N" number.

The CAM or Certified Aviation Manager is a industry self accreditation similar to the CPA for accountants.  It assures the holder has a broad understanding of the information that is appropriate for a manager in business aviation.

Prepaid air charter plan, either for a block of charter hours at a predefined fee, or a set debit balance in dollars.

This is a service provided by aircraft management companies in which an owner's aircraft is used by the aircraft management company in Part 135 operations.  Generally, there is a revenue sharing arrangement with the aircraft owner.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the U.S. government agency that is tasked with oversight of the National Airspace System. It provides air traffic control services, pilot certification standards and aviation research.

Fractional ownership is a specific form of aircraft ownership.  Shares in a specific aircraft are sold to individual owners in fractions of one-half, one-quarter, one-eighth and one-sixteenth.  The individual has all the ownership rights and is registered as an owner with the FAA.  The aircraft is then operated in a large pool of aircraft by the fractional provider (NetJets, FlightOptions and FlexJet are the largest three).  Ownership in the aircraft entitles you to a specific number of hours in the pool aircraft for which are are charged a management fee and operational expenses.

IS-BAO is the ISO standard for Business Aviation Operations.  IS-BAO registration is offered in three stages: Stage One, Stage Two and Stage Three.  The "higher' the stage the stronger risk management and process controls the holder has exhibited.

On-demand aviation is represented by any form of air travel that is delivered on your own schedule.  This is inclusive of charter aircraft, charter cards, fractional ownership, and ownership of your own aircraft.

This is what is traditionally thought as the "airlines."  These are operators that provide scheduled transportation to the public on a large aircraft. The operator must be approved by the FAA to operate under FAA Part 135.

Part 135 is the section of federal aviation regulations that regulates aircraft operators that offer their aircraft for hire to the public on demand.  These aircraft do not fly a regular schedule. 

Part 91 is the section of federal aviation regulations that regulates aircraft operating "without compensation."  These aircraft may be large jets, but their use is restricted to the owner of the aircraft.  Part 91 is the least restrictive of the federal aviation regulations.
